Management Science (MS) is an all encompassing field where scientific based principles, strategies, and analytical methods are employed to solve business problems.
The BBA (Hons) in Service Operations Management programme is designed to train and educate students who will shape the future of Hong Kong service organisations. With the knowledge and skills gained from this programme, graduates are slated to make significant contributions on the performance of service organisations in Hong Kong.
The BBA(Hons) in SOM is a first-of-its-kind degree programme offered in Hong Kong. The key focus of this programme is to provide students with specialised knowledge and skills required for the effective management of service operations.
Students will be introduced to a plethora of concepts and methodologies in quality management, productivity management and customer relationship management. They will also have an opportunity to learn about the various functional areas and strategic issues in the service business enterprise.
This programme is truly inter-disciplinary and not for the faint of hearts. Students will learn how to apply the latest concepts and techniques in operations management, human resources management, marketing, management information systems, strategic management, operational research and business statistics.
This programme also has a strong application orientation and uses interactive methods of instruction. Students will gain insights in solving practical problems for Hong Kong service organisations through case studies, guest lectures, site visits and team projects.
Through reports and presentations, students will receive extensive training in oral and written communication skills. Computer software and information technology will be used extensively in classroom instruction, projects and assignments.
