Dr. Kelvin Wan, our 2011 DBA graduate, won the “Trainer of the Year Award (Champion)” and “Distinguished Trainer Award” in The Award for Excellence in Training and Development which was organized by The Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA)

Dr. Kelvin Wan, our 2011 DBA graduate, won the “Trainer of the Year Award (Champion)” and “Distinguished Trainer Award” in The Award for Excellence in Training and Development which was organized by The Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA)

The Award aims to recognize publicly the outstanding achievement of training professionals who have made significant contribution to their companies as well as the whole community.  This is the most prestige and the sole award of this kind in the region.

The whole judging process is very stringent.  It consists of several rounds of interviews and paper submission.   Our Kelvin was firstly nominated by his company – HSBC.  Then, a written paper had to be vigorously screened by the judging panel about his training philosophy, unique delivery methods, benefits to the company and contributions to the society/industry.  After that, Kelvin was selected to go through two rounds of face-to-face interviews in front of two Boards of Examiner.  All adjudicators came from the top management of participating companies like American Express, Standard Chartered, Cathay Pacific, MTR, KPMG, Shangri La Hotel, TVB, Hong Kong Jockey Club, Mandarin Oriental, FedEx, Fiji-Xerox Pfizer, CSL, DELL, Shiseido, Chow Tai Fook, HSBC, HKMA, Asia-world Expo, Government, Jardine, Hong Kong Land …etc. 

Finally, in the award ceremony in Sep2013, Dr Wan was announced to be the “Trainer of the Year (Champion)” and “Distinguished Trainer Award” awardee in this open competition among all listed companies.
