ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for admission to MBA, an applicant must satisfy the following minimum entrance requirements:
- A recognised degree with 2nd class honours or above, or equivalent; plus
- At least 3 years of work experience; and
- An acceptable GMAT score or the equivalent, subject to approval of the MBA Programme Director
AND
- All shortlisted applicants are required to attend an interview.
Applicants are strongly advised to attain an acceptable GMAT score or the equivalent before submission of application.
Applicants whose entrance qualification is obtained from an institution where the medium of instruction is not English should also fulfill the following minimum English proficiency requirement:
- a TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based) or 79 (internet-based); or
- an overall band score of 6.0 in International English Language Testing System (IELTS); or
- score 450 in the new College English Test (CET6) of Chinese mainland or a pass in the old CET-6 test; or
- other equivalent qualifications
Participants who satisfy the above minimum entrance requirements and possess a recognised master's degree from relevant business discipline may apply for credit transfer for equivalent courses, up to 50% of the credit load of the MBA programme. Courses completed for fulfilling professional qualifications which are equivalent to a bachelor's degree will not be considered for credit transfer.
Application
Applications will be invited in around December each year. Applications received will normally be considered for admission in the following September. Please refer to "What's new" for updated information.
The online application fee is HK$100 per an application. All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Award of The Programme
The MBA programme will lead to the final award of Master of Business Administration (MBA) conferred by City University of Hong Kong. To be granted an award of the University, participants must obtain passing grades in all courses of the programme with a Cumulative GPA of 2.00 or above and must meet specific requirements of the named award for which they are registered, general University requirements, and College requirements, if any.
Participants who have more than three courses with Grade C or below; or more than two courses with Grade D or below for the whole programme may not be granted an MBA award unless they retake those courses to improve their grades in accordance with the University regulations.
