CityU MBA organized a 1-day industry workshop in Singapore for the participants to learn about cruises terminal management and its tourism business by visiting the Singapore Cruise Centre Pte Ltd. (SCC).The participants met with the Vice Presidents of Business Development and Strategic Planning, Asset and Facilities Management, Information Technology, Finance and also Ferry Operations. Through the insightful presentations and interactive dialogue with the senior management team, participants had a thorough understanding of the company’s operations and business models, and gained insights in different functional areas of the company. The workshop ended with a guided tour to the SCC ferry and cruise terminals with Singapore’s largest shopping mall, Sentosa Island and Universal Studios Singapore™ nearby.
In addition to the workshop with SCC, students also visited two companies, SEA Group, a leading internet platform in Greater Southeast Asia and Skyscanner, a leading global travel search site and app, arranged by the career services team, to look into various facets of different industries and to learn about the work culture in Singapore. It was also a great opportunity for the participants making valuable connections with the representatives of the host companies.
