1-day on-site workshop for our participants
1-day on-site workshop for our participants

To better understand the latest development of Hong Kong’s transportation system and logistics, CityU MBA bought the MBA participants to the Hong Kong Ferry (Holdings) Co. Ltd. and the MTR Corporation Limited for a 1-day on-site workshop.

Hong Kong Ferry hosted the participants at their shipyard at North Tsing Yi to have a closer look into the business operations of the Group and its subsidiary company – Hong Kong Shipyard Limited. With the specialized expertise in vessels maintenance, the company helped one of their clients to launch the “Giant Yellow Rubber Duck” in Victoria Harbor attracted an overwhelming response. We appreciate our alumnus Dr. David Ho (MBA’1999), Group General Manager, Ir. Chan Chi Ming, Deputy General Manager and Ms. Wendy Tam of HRA department for hosting the talk and tour.

The group continued the visit to the office of MTR and its Control Room located at Tsing Yi Station. Our alumnus, Mr. Morris Cheung (MBA’1994) MTR Academy President, introduced the MTR Runs Green framework – The Green Bond which integrated MTR’s environmental, social and corporate governance into its financing and decision-making process as well as to support investments related to low-carbon transportation, energy efficiency, sustainable transport solutions and real estate properties, while Mr. Andy Leung, MTR Duty Operations Network Control Manager walked the participants through the operations and safety management of the control centre.

The workshop was a great opportunity for the participants to get a glimpse of the dynamic sea and land transportation, as well as a full picture of the operations in Hong Kong’s logistics.
