Wang Dao Sustainability Index, WDSI

The Wang Dao Sustainability Index (WDSI) is a set of sustainable development indicators based on the traditional Chinese culture ‘Wang Dao’, which is used to measure the relative performance of countries in the process of sustainable development. It covers 64 indicators in 3 major domains and 11 dimensions, and fully corresponds to the sustainable development goals of the United Nations. The first global sustainable development ranking based on the WDSI was released in 2018. The ranking systematically measures and compares the sustainable development status of 74 representative countries and economies. In the upcoming seminar, Professor Liu will interpret the contents of the WDSI and the world situation reflected in the global sustainable development ranking. Also he will discuss how to apply the indexes in contemporary society to achieve worldwide sustainable development.
