MBA Orientation 2014

To mark the beginning of a new journey for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) 2014 cohort, an orientation seminar was held at the MBA Lounge on 23rd August. Prof Kevin Chiang, Programme Director of MBA, introduced the support team, encouraged students to set goals, and explained how the programme can help them achieve these goals by providing necessary skill-sets and resources.

Prof Paul Lowry, Associate Programme Director of MBA, further introduced the two key activities offered by the programme: Cultural Exchange Programme and Triangle International Programme. Students have the opportunity to travel aboard for cultural and academic exchange. The MBA Career Development Centre will prepare students in career planning through its support and services scheme.

The afternoon session consisted of a learning group meeting and a team building activity. Participants were divided into groups to meet their learning partners by introducing themselves. These exercises aimed to enhance communication skills and team work ability. Students also constructed towers with limited resources to enhance their abilities in goal setting and team work.

A dinner buffet was served in the evening for students, guests, alumni, and faculty members on 19/F of Academic 3. Prof Houmin Yan, Dean of the College, gave a welcoming speech to the new cohort before the dinner started.
