Marketing student receives project funding of HK$100,000

A team of CityU students joined the Guangdong – Hong Kong Information and Communications Technology Young Entrepreneur Programme 2014-15 to compete for a seed fund to set up an innovative start-up project in ICT-related areas. The CityU team has won the Cyberport Creative Micro Fund (CCMF), with a grant of HK$100,000 for concept test and prototype development.

The team consisted of four students:

  • Kevin Tam Kiu-fai, Year 4 BBA (Hons) Marketing
  • Gladys Chan Ho-lai, Year 4 BScSCM (Hons) Creative Media
  • Joming Ho Ying-tung, Year 4 BAS (Hons) New Media
  • Nanoka Tse Ka-ming, Year 3 BScSCM (Hons) Creative Media

"Our company offers O2O (online to offline) smart mini-decoration services. We aim to ‘move decoration online’ where consumers can first make their own decoration blueprint in a simulation platform (online), then a decoration specialist will meet the client in person (offline) to further discuss their plan,” Kevin Tam explained his team’s project.

“It was such an amazing experience to work with other CityU students. We are thrilled to be selected as the grantees of CCMF. We will continue to work hard, and hope that our project can be shortlisted in the E-lab of QianHai Shenzhen – Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub in the future,” he added.
