Seminar and Book Launching Ceremony on Will Hong Kong bounce back under “Belt & Road” Initiative?


The book launching ceremony and public seminar on “Will Hong Kong Bounce Back under ‘Belt & Road’ Initiative?” was held successfully on 2nd February at CityU.

Prof Guobin Zhu, Director, City University of Hong Kong Press and Professor of the School of Law, gave his welcome remarks in the ceremony. Prof Zhu emphasized the growing importance of topics such as the “One Belt One Road” Initiative and Public Private Partnership (PPP). He also expressed his gratitude to all the contributors and editors who were part of this collective effort to make the book published.   

Followed by three seminars on “One Belt One Road” Initiative conducted by renowned experts on the topic including:

  • Mr Herman Shao-ming Hu, BBS, JP, Council Chairman of City University of Hong Kong
  • Mr Haiming Liang, Director of the Research Department at the “One Belt One Road 100” Forum and Member of the Academic Committee of Pangoal
  • Mr Lan Cheong Lau, Senior Vice President, News and Public Affairs of Asia Television Limited, and one of the authors and editors of the book

Prof Arthur Ellis, Provost, Prof Linda Li, Associate Provost, Prof Houmin Yan, Dean of the College of Business, and other faculty members of CityU also attended the event.

CB has lately signed an agreement with UNECE and Tsinghua University to establish an International PPP Specialist Centre of Excellence for Public Transports Logistics. The Centre will help develop the best international practices in Public Private Partnership in the field of transport logistics, and delivery of PPP training especially in the Greater China region.
