CEO strikes for excellence in endurance footraces

Ms Clare Wu, Chief Executive Officer of Aon-COFCO Insurance Broker Co., Ltd. Shanghai,  shared the topic of Gobi March at the 25th February lecture of the City Seminar Series, organised by the College of Business.

Ms Wu is an experience marathon runner, participating different races around the world. During the City Seminar, she shared her experience in the Gobi March in China in 2014 and the Atacama Crossing in Chile in 2015. These two races are under the world's leading rough-country endurance footrace series – the 4 Deserts.  In particular, the Atacama race took place over 7 days and required participants to finish 250 km through the driest, hottest yet coldest places on earth, testing their limits of both physical and mental endurance. Keeping herself faithful and determined, Ms Wu overcame adverse situations and completed the competition beautifully.

In her sharing, Ms Wu generously told the audience the challenges she encountered, and provided practical suggestions to the students who are going to represent the College in The Eleventh Xuanzang Road Business School Gobi Challenge (第十一屆玄奘之路商學院戈壁挑戰賽).
