CB promotes continuous improvement in student learning

To provide high quality education to students, the College of Business has been taking a proactive approach in programme quality assurance. The Assurance of Learning (AoL) system is the main mechanism which aims to achieve continued programme improvement through regular measurements of student learning outcomes and various feedback systems.

The College conducted an AoL briefing on 20th May, to brief colleagues on the whole AoL process and introduce changes made for the new round of assessment including recent enhancement to the AoL Online System. Respective programme leaders, programme administrators and departmental AoL coordinators were invited to the session. Dr Isabel Yan, Assistant Dean (Assurance of Learning), gave a presentation and highlighted the importance of the AoL system.

“The AoL system is an established framework that assists teachers in assessing students' achievement of intended learning outcomes upon the completion of study, and then developing learning activities or curriculum improvement to close any learning gap."

“The conversion of existing paper forms to online forms will enhance the process of data collection and analysis, and help measuring the students learning outcomes more effectively, in the direction of improving the overall quality of programme.” Dr Yan said.
