CB students victorious at World University Squash Championships

Congratulations to BBA Management Sciences student Tsz-fung Yip, and BBA Banking and Financial Services student Chi-him Wong, who triumphed in the 9th World University Squash Championships 2016, held in Kuala Lumpur on 8 September.

Tsz-fung, the tournament's top seed, put on a great display, winning in straight games 11-3, 11-9, 11-4 against second seed Ivan Yuen from Malaysia, to win men's gold medal for Hong Kong for the first time in the event's 20-year history. Chi-him lost to Tsz-fung in the semi-finals, but claimed the bronze medal.

“I feel very happy about winning the game. It was going well. I am satisfied with the way I maintained my focus throughout the match, and didn’t let it slip away,” said Tsz-fung.

“Now it’s my time to play well with the Hong Kong Team, and I hope we can get good results in the coming team event.”

Tsz-fung Yip is a professional squash player, with a world ranking of 44.
