BBA students enter top 10 in World Asian Case Competition 2016

Three College of Business BBA students made their way into the Top 10 in the World Asian Case Competition 2016, competing with 60 other teams. The team of three, together with other finalists, gathered at Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul, Korea, to do the final presentation and attend the award ceremony on 13th August 2016.

With the theme “How Asian Brands Soar”, the competition, organized by the Academic of Asian Business (AAB), aimed to provide a platform for college students to present an exciting Asian business case and analyze how the company became successful. The competition also provided valuable opportunities to develop mentorships with business leaders and to build network with other global fellow participants.

Besides, winning teams were invited to attend the AAB’s International Conference 2016 and a city tour in Seoul, as part of the AAB Global Scholarship Award Package. Their cases will also be published in the book “How Asian Brand Soar”, which will be made available to universities around the world.

Nirav Sunil Jethani, BBA in Business Analysis, Ishwara Manjunath Hegde, BBA in Business Economics, and Natalie Wong Hong-yiu, BBA in Marketing, formed the team and conducted an in-depth study on the renowned Chinese technology company Lenovo.

Nirav shared his experience in the competition, “I am glad that our presentation on Lenovo went well. It’s always privileged to meet with other elite students and learn from each other.”

Other members also enjoyed this networking opportunity, “The conference offered ranges of panel discussions covering various business trends in Asia. It allowed us to exchange ideas with students and academics from different countries, and broaden our network,” said Natalie and Ishwara.
