EQUIS & EPAS Accreditation Seminars hosted at CB


The EQUIS & EPAS Accreditation Seminars were hosted by the College of Business from 21st to 23rd November. Over 40 representatives from all over the world gathered at CityU to get a deep understanding of the process and criteria for applying for EQUIS or EPAS accreditation.

Prof Houmin Yan, Dean of the College, shared on the topic of “The EQUIS Process as lived by the College of Business”. He concluded his talk, “We have demonstrated our strengths in all dimensions including academic research, student exchange outreach and programme collaboration. It is our honour to be accredited by EQUIS which reaffirms our leading position among business schools worldwide. In the future, we will continue to leverage on our distinctive strengths to offer a broad range of globally oriented, thought-provoking business programmes at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. We will remain committed to internationalization, as well as building and maintaining life-long partnerships with alumni, industry and communities.”

The College of Business was first awarded 3-year accreditation by EQUIS in 2006, and obtained the renewal for further 3 years in 2010 and 5 years in 2013 subsequently.

EQUIS (EFMD Quality Improvement System) is a leading international system of quality assessment, improvement, and accreditation of higher education institutions in management and business administration, with an aim to raise the standard of management education globally. It has accredited over 160 institutions in 40 countries since its launch in 1997.  EQUIS accredited institutions include many world-class schools such as INSEAD, IMD, Richard Ivey School of Business, and London Business School.
