New appointment of College International Advisory Board member

The College of Business is thrilled to welcome Dr Jih-chu Lee to the College International Advisory Board.

Dr Lee is President of Shin Kong Financial Holdings and Vice Chairman of Shin Kong Life in Taiwan. She has served in various capacities across academic, political, and financial spheres for a number of years.

Dr Lee was a professor of economics at National Chengchi University, a recipient of the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Award, a visiting research scholar at Harvard University and Stanford University, and a visiting professor at Peking University and Tsinghua University.

A passionate member in serving the public, Dr Lee previously served as Vice Chairman of the Financial Supervisory Commission, and a legislator in the Legislative Yuan in Taiwan.

Dr Lee has taken up important positions in the business sector. She was Chairman of a number of corporations, including Chunghwa Post Co., Taiwan Financial Holdings, Bank of Taiwan, and the Bankers Association in Taiwan. She also sat on the board of directors of various listed companies and government agencies, including the Straits Exchange Foundation, Taiwan-Hong Kong Economic and Cultural Co-operation Council, Taiwan External Trade Development Council, Taiwan Stock Exchange, Taiwan Futures Exchange, and Chunghwa Telecom, among others.

She was awarded by the Taiwan government the First Merit Medal for her extraordinary contributions. She was the first female Eisenhower Fellow in Taiwan, and a recipient of the Top Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award of the World and in Taiwan.

The College International Advisory Board comprises luminaries from the business world and academics. It acts as a steering body to guide the College’s internationalisation drive, as well as offers strategic advice to strengthen the College's ties with the business sector.
