A team of three, consists of BBA Information Management students Kevin Suen Cheuk-wing and Kyle Ng Man-lung, and BBA Global Business Systems Management student Sunny Chen Zhan, won the Championship at the BPCC CITYU Case Competition 2017. The competition, jointly organized by the College of Business, Knowledge Transfer Office, and Business Proposal and Competition Club (BPCC), a student society under the College which aims to strengthen students’ competitiveness through business case competition trainings, was successfully held on 18 March at CityU.

Over 80 students, divided in more than 20 teams, took part in this year competition. After the four-hour presentation in the final round, the panel judges - Mr David Ai, Director of Knowledge Transfer Office at CityU, Mr Kinni Mew, Founder of MindLayer Limited, Dr Alex Wang Chong, Assistant Professor of the Department of Information Systems, and Ms Raine Ng, Deputy Programme Leader of BBA Marketing, selected three award winning teams.

Kevin Suen, leader of the Champion team 2Ks, said, “This is a great opportunity to create your own startup business. We got very useful advice from the judges and the peer teams. I hope more similar competitions could be held in the campus!”

CityU Case Competition aims to bring together students at CityU to investigate and analyze specific business cases for corporations. Through participating in the competition, students are expected to improve their analytical competence, problem solving abilities, and presentation skills, etc.

Aiden Chan Foon-lok, BBA Global Business System Management student, who is the main organizer of the event and the executive committee member of the BPCC, was inspired from his exchange journey in Denmark, “During my exchange study, I was able to participate in a case competition organized by the host university. It’s eye-opening. Students there could showcase their business talents and ideas with their schoolmates. So I think we should do the same here at CityU!”
