ESADE International Study Tour: Doing Business in Asia

Aiming to understand deeper the business environment of Asia, about 50 students from MSc in International Management programme of the ESADE Business School participated in the International Study Tour: Doing Business in Asia, from 14th – 20th January. The programme was co-organised by the College’s Executive Education unit, including lectures at CityU and company visits.

Prof Wayne Yu, Assistant Dean (Executive Education), and Dr Yanni Yan, Executive Development (International Programmes) of the College, opened the class with welcome remarks. “The long-standing partnership between ESADE and CityU is highly valued. This programme would help students to understand better how businesses run in Asia.”

The programme was well structured with lectures delivered by faculty members including Prof Houmin Yan, Dean of the College, Prof Wenyu Dou, Associate Dean (Graduate Programmes), Prof Julie Li, Head of the Department of Marketing, Prof Wayne Yu, Dr Yanni Yan and Dr Wilson Chan, Adjunct Professor. The group also visited the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), and had a guest lecture by Towngas on their business expansion plan in China, as well as an introduction by HKTDC on the Belt & Road Initiatives and the Greater Bay Area development.

Arranged by ESADE, Mr Blake Larson, Lalamove’s Head of International and ESADE’s alumnus, shared with the students how he ended up working in Hong Kong, and Lalamove’s business strategies in transforming itself from a local startup to a leading delivery company in Asia.
