CB welcomes Global Business and Computational Finance students

The College of Business hosted a welcoming dinner for BBA Global Business (GBU) and BSc Computational Finance (CFIN) students on 12 September. Over 100 students from three cohorts spent an enjoyable night with Professor Houmin Yan, Dean of College of Business, Dr Maggie Dong, programme leader of GBU, Dr Li Tao, programme leader of CFIN, Dr Wu Jing, Deputy programme leader of CFIN and other faculty members and staff of the College.

In the dinner, Professor Yan encouraged students to grab every opportunity to make the university life meaningful. He highlighted that there is a pressing need from the business world for talents in financial technology. In view of such, the College has redesigned its curriculum to prepare students for this new global trend. Starting from 2019 academic year, BSc Computational Finance will be renamed as BSc Computational Finance and Financial Technology to reflect the new key focuses of the programme.

Meanwhile, BBA Global Business, a miniature MBA, will add a study tour component to widen students' horizon. GBU students will join with the new EMBA+MPA programs to visit Belt-and-Road countries, and they will be benefit from the experience shared by their senior EMBA+MBA students, who are seasoned business leaders in their fields.
