CB welcomes inbound exchange students

Around 190 inbound exchange students from partner universities all over the world have just embarked on their learning journey in Hong Kong. Through an array of orientation activities organised by the College’s Exchange Student Club (ESC), exchange students gained tips for studying at CityU and living in Hong Kong.

Professor Houmin Yan, Dean of the College, hosted a welcome luncheon to greet the exchange students on 9 January. Also attending the luncheon were Dr Mary Pang, Associate Dean (Internationalisation), Mr Simon Lim, Manager of Global Engagement Office, and faculty members including Dr Sidney Leung, Dr Zilong Zhang and Dr Daniel Tse.

On 11 January, ESC organised a day trip to Ngong Ping for the exchange and local students. In the trip, they took cable car from Tung Chung to Ngong Ping and visited the Po Lin Monastery where they enjoyed a delicious vegetarian meal. The group also climbed 268 steps for the Big Buddha to experience the culture of the Orient. The trip not only allowed students to get a glimpse of the local culture, but also fostered friendship between local and exchange students.

CB wishes all exchange students a wonderful stay at CityU and in Hong Kong!
