MKT students receive Merit Award in ACCA Hong Kong Business Competition

The final competition of ACCA Hong Kong Business Competition 2018-19 was held on 26 January, 2019. A team of three undergraduate students from the Department of Marketing, Yumi Yim, Heysan Wong, and Ammon Yip entered the final eight and won the Merit Award. Meanwhile, two other CityU teams, another eight students from the Department of Accountancy and the Department of Economics and Finance, listed top 20 among 300 enrollments in the competition this year.

The top 20 Teams attended a professional skills workshop in December 2018 and received the expert advices and coaching from ACCA members. Based on the theme of ‘Professional and social conscious leaders for our shared future’, competing teams submitted a proposal with business ideas and financial plans for New Life Psychiatric Rehabilitation Association. Eight team were selected to the final.

Since its launch in 2007, the annual ACCA Hong Kong Business Competition equips accounting and business students with the accounting, business analysis and communication skills employers demand.
