The final competition of KPMG Business Administration (BA) Paper 2018 was held on 23 February 2019. Alex Kwong, undergraduate student from Department of Economics and Finance, won the championship.

Organised by the Hong Kong Federation of Business Students and supported by KPMG, the competition aims to unleash creativity and business acumen of undergraduates. It is regarded as one of the leading international case competitions in Hong Kong and Asia.

This year, more than 150 teams entered the competition. Alex and his fellow teammate Michelle stood out among their strong competitors and impressed the judges with well-prepared presentation and innovative prototype building. Under the theme “Smart City”, the team develop a system named SMARTer, which helps Property Management Companies control their energy consumption level to create a better and smarter society.

Alex is excited about the achievement, he said, “We are so delighted that our hard work pays off. What I’ve learnt from the competition is way more valuable than the prize we got. Such experience not only broadens our horizons but also expands our network by connecting us with other teams.”
