CB management meets students admitted to joint degree program with Columbia University

Professor Houmin Yan, Dean of College of Business, hosted a tea reception and met newly admitted students  to the Joint Bachelor’s Degree Program between City University of Hong Kong and Columbia University, namely Iris Shi, Nathan Chen, Frank Li from the Department of Economics and Finance, and Joey Hou from BSc Computational Finance (CFIN) programme. The four undergraduate students will start a two-year learning journey in the United States this coming September.

Also joining the event were Dr Raymond Wong, Associate Dean (Undergraduate Programmes); Professor Ma Yue, Head of Department of Economics and Finance; Dr Li Tao, BScCFIN Major Leader; Mr Eric Collins, Visiting Fellow; and Miss Doris Choi and Mr Leung Hon-wing from the Undergraduate Programmes team of the College.

The faculty shared tips on studying and applying to internships abroad, while students talked about their plans and aspirations. Professor Yan encouraged students to step out from their comfort zone and take the opportunities to widen their horizons and build their professional network in the highly internationalised learning environment. He also gave his best wishes to them and invited them to share their extraordinary learning experience at CityU and Columbia University with their friends and fellow students.
