EMBA (Chinese) programme launch

The orientation for the first ever cohort of Master of Business Administration (Executive) Programme (Chinese) (EMBA Chinese) was held at Academic 3  from 18th to 21st September. The roster of events included introduction seminars, campus tour, in-class activities, registration, class photo-taking, sight-seeing of scenery spots, hiking and lastly a welcoming dinner.  Around 24 new students from Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, and Shenzhen attended the events.

 

On the second day, Prof Wenyu Dou, Programme Director of EMBA (Chinese) and Associate Dean of the College, welcomed the cohort. He then invited students to introduce themselves and connect with other participants. Prof Leon Zhao, Head of the Department of Information Systems gave a short presentation on the programme requirements and structure. University representatives, i.e. Run Run Shaw Library and Recreation and Sports Unit also delivered a brief presentation on the facilities and supports available for students. A welcoming dinner was served at the Hong Kong Science Park for all students, guests, and faculty after the seminar.

Students then went hiking on Lantau Island and visited the Hong Kong Legislative Council Complex (LegCo Complex) with their programme professors on the third and fourth days. In-class activities and the first class were held on the 21st taught by Prof Wenyu Dou. 

A kick-off ceremony cum dinner was held at Royal Plaza Hotel on 20th September. Prof Horace Ip, Vice-President (Students Affairs) of CityU, Prof Roderick Wong, Vice-President (Development and External Relations) of CityU, Prof Paul Lam, Chief-of-Staff of CityU, Prof Gang Hao, Associate Vice-President (Development) of CityU, and Prof Houmin Yan, Dean of the College of Business, joined other members of the College’s management team to welcoming the students.
