21 EMBA students of the 2013 and 2014 cohorts completed a six-day residential trip (R-Trip) to Taipei, Taiwan from 24th to 29th May. Led by Dr John Leung, EMBA Programme Director, the tour included visits to:

  • Schroders Investment Management Taiwan
  • HTC Corporation
  • Chinese Television System
  • Cogitoimage International Co., Ltd.
  • Aurora Group
  • LihPao Life Science Corporation
  • The Legislative Yuan Republic of China

The students were stimulated to discuss topics on the advantages/disadvantages and problems/opportunities associated with different forms of operations, and explored management strategies of global organizations in Taiwan.

Sharing sessions with National Taiwan University (NTU) EMBA students and NTU-Fudan EMBA delegation, and a campus tour were arranged to encourage exchange of ideas among students.

This R-trip is a key component of the compulsory course FB6813 Executive Consultancy Mission (Residential Trip) under the EMBA programme, with an aim to integrate and consolidate knowledge learnt from the programme in a new environment outside of Hong Kong. The trip also serves as an elective FB6843 Global Organizations Benchmarking Field Study which provides students with the opportunity to examine the success factors of global organizations operated outside Hong Kong.
