CB hosts Alumni Cocktail in Shanghai

The College of Business have more than 40,000 alumni around the world. Each of our alumni holds a piece of the CB history as well as its future; the connections that bond us are what make us strong.

With an aim to strengthen the connections between our alumni, the College hosted a cocktail event prior to the CityU Alumni Reunion @ Shanghai banquet at the Le Royal Méridien Shanghai on 17th July.

Prof Houmin Yan, Dean of the College, opened the cocktail by sharing the latest development of the College. Prof Way Kuo, President of City University of Hong Kong, Prof Matthew Lee, Vice-President of the Development and External Relations of CityU, Dr Gang Hao, Associate Vice-President of the Development Office of CityU, Dr Mingzheng Shi, Associate Vice-President (Chinese Mainland Affairs Office), Ms Kathy Chan, Associate Vice-President (Alumni Relations), Prof Wayne Yu, Assistant Dean of the College, Dr Wilson Chan, Assistant Programme Director of the MBA programme, and other CityU faculty also joined Prof Yan on greeting the CB alumni.

Over 50 guests attended the cocktail. They took the chance to reconnect with each other and reminisced their times studying at CityU.

Subsequent to the cocktail, a reunion banquet themed Exploring Shanghai – The Present and Future was organized by the CityU Alumni Relations Office (ARO). During the dinner, President Kuo shared the development of the University and was proud to see the achievements of our alumni. Mr Vincent Lo, Founder of Shanghai Xintiandi and Chairman of Shui On Group, was invited as a guest speaker in an open forum to share his wisdom and experience in leading a conglomerate business in Shanghai. CB alumnus Mr Clovis Lau, Chairman of CityU Convocation and CityU Council member, served as a facilitator. CityU alumni actively participated in the forum and sought advice from Mr Lo.

All guests had a pleasant evening by enjoying the guest talks, inauguration of CityU Shanghai Alumni Chapter, and lucky draws.
