MBA orientation 2015


The Master of Business Administration (MBA) team welcomed the MBA Cohort 2015 in an orientation event held at the Auberge Discovery Bay Hotel from 5th to 6th September.

Prof Kevin Chiang, Programme Director of MBA, kicked off the event introducing the feature components of the programme. “CityU MBA not only teaches you how to become a good manager, but most importantly how to set and achieve your goals and make decisions in key moments,” Prof Chiang discussing the importance of goal setting in life.

A dinner banquet was held on the 5th with over 130 participants attended, including Cohort 2015, current students, faculty, and guests. Prof Houmin Yan, opened the dinner welcoming the new students. Mr George Yuen, renowned expert in public relations and foreign diplomacy, shared and highlighted his valuable experience on The top secrets of my business success: Aligning business ecosystem with career development. A Q&A session was followed and facilitated by Dr Wilson Chan, Assistant Programme Director of MBA.

The masters of ceremonies Stanley Cheng and Natalie Yuen, students of Cohort 2014, shared their experience in their MBA journey and highlighted memorable activities, such as The Charity Bike Ride, with the guests.

A half-day team building session was held for the new students on the 6th. Students participated in ice-breaking games and various exercises in team building and strategic thinking.

  • Career Service – Dr Ron Kwok, Assistant Dean (Career Service) of the College, introduced a career development driven elective course called Career Coaching and Business Mentoring

The MBA team thanked all the colleagues, current students, MBA Alumni Association, and MBA Student Clubs for joining them in welcoming the new Cohort.
