Study IBJThe BBA (IBJ) program exposes students to a variety of disciplines, including business, international business, cross-cultural studies and language. At the same time our program has depth, by providing students with especially rigorous training in Japanese language and Japanese business. Students can further specialize themselves by completing a minor in a functional area of business, such as finance, human resource management, information systems or marketing. Japan is one of Hong Kong's top trading and investment partners. More and more Japanese companies are now sourcing products or establishing production in China. IB(J) graduates with their knowledge of international business, Chinese and Japanese culture and the Japanese, English and Cantonese languages are in a unique position to pursue careers related to the tremendously important economic relationship between Japan, Hong Kong and mainland China.
The following list shows some of the key reasons to choose the City University BBA in International Business (Japan):Established. Our program has been running continuously for over ten years. We have an enthusiastic team with excellent knowledge of both international business and Japanese studies. Unique. Our program is the only one in Hong Kong where students earn a degree in business while developing strong regional expertise on Japan, including knowledge of the Japanese language. Active. Our program emphasizes learning outside as well as inside the classroom. For example, we run an annual dinner talk series, bringing in business people, government officials and outside academics to talk about the very latest issues in international business and Japanese business studies. Hands-On. Our optional study tour to Japan lets students visit Japanese companies and experience Japanese culture first-hand. IB(J) students are also in a strong position to apply for our College's exchange program with Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo. Our department also tries to help students find internships with Japan-related companies. Friendly. Because our program is small, students really get to know their teachers well. Our staff are friendly and highly accessible. Career Prospects. With their knowledge of both business and Japanese, graduates of the BBA IB(J) programme are in a particularly strong position to take advantage of career opportunities. Our graduates have used their Japanese language skills and knowledge of Japan to enter Japanese companies, or to work for Hong Kong organizations conducting business with Japan. Other graduates have emphasized their knowledge of international business and management to obtain jobs with multinational companies.
