About the Hong Kong SAR

The Hong Kong SAR is a city where east meets west. This Special Administrative Region of China comprises the Hong Kong Island, the Kowloon Peninsula, the New Territories, and numerous small islands. Situated at the southern tip of the Greater Pearl River Delta of China, with a total area of 1,078 square kilometers, the Hong Kong SAR is a cosmopolitan city filled with natural, cultural and modern attractions.

Serving as a gateway to China, the Hong Kong SAR is an international city, offering a strategic two-way platform for business connections with the Mainland. It has long been considered a model of a small but externally oriented economy. Under the "One Country, Two Systems" principle, the Hong Kong SAR remains one of the most open economies in the world, and is consistently ranked as the world's freest economy.

2007 will mark the beginning of the Hong Kong SAR's 10th year since its return to Chinese sovereignty, and the inaugural ACE International Conference. We are pleased to share, at this significant milestone, the economic prosperity of our evolving economy, our unique position on the world stage, and the extraordinary travel experiences provided by this thriving, cosmopolitan metropolis.
