Since September 2009, the College of Business launched the Young Scholars Programme (YSP) which aims to nurture outstanding business students to become future leaders in the region/world.

Highlights of the Young Scholars Programme include:

  • Overseas study tour during Year 1 summer break;
  • Leadership training and other workshops for whole-personal development;
  • Networking with top business students admitted locally and overseas;
  • Professional mentorship provided by professors and/ or professional practitioners;
  • Cultivation of social responsibility through community services and voluntary work.

Programme Details

The following are entitlements for YSP students who are expected to participate in most of the activities, which will be duly recorded in the student portfolio:

  • In Year 1 start of Semester B, recruitment of members.
  • In Year 1 summer break, 6-day study tour to Korea.
  • In Year 2 Semester A or B (BBA3) / Year 3 Semester A or B (BBA4), student exchange to the U.S. or other places.
  • In Year 2 (BBA3) / Year 3 (BBA4), summer internship in Hong Kong or elsewhere.
  • In Year 2 or 3 (BBA3) / Year 3 or 4 (BBA4), invitation to join BGS international honor society.
  • Seminar/workshops/cocktail gathering/other activities designed especially for YSP throughout the 3 years (BBA3) / 4 years (BBA4).
  • Mentoring scheme supported by faculty and professionals.
  • Participation in community services and volunteer work arranged locally and overseas through the Student Ambassador Scheme, Peer-Assisted Learning Scheme, etc.
