The Government Flying Service (GFS) is a department of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region with an establishment of 335 civil service posts responsible for flight operations, maintenance and administration. GFS is committed to serving the community and the Hong Kong government by providing 24-hour aviation support through dedication, teamwork and professional excellence to ensure that services are safe, responsive, efficient and cost effective. For students who have a passion in Government Flying Services or would like to explore more about a career as a GFS Helicopter Pilot or Air Crewman Officer, you are highly recommended to join the following Ceremony and/or GAINS Programme.
1. GAIIA Inauguration Ceremony
The ceremony will include live search and rescue demonstrations and flight simulation.
Event Date: 29 March 2026 (Sunday)
Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 noon
Venue: Government Flying Service, Kai Tak Division

2. GAINS Programme
A 6-Week Intensive Career-Oriented Programme designed for undergraduates including classroom lessons, helicopter safety protocols, emergency procedures, GFS workflow processes, job shadowing, mentorship, simulation training and practical flight operations training. Successful students who have completed the programme will be awarded with certificates issued by GFS.
Programme Period: May - November 2026 (See Brochure for Module Dates & Outline)
Eligibility: All years and disciplines are welcome
Attributes: Highly self-motivated; Passionate about Government Flying Services; Excellent verbal English; and strong team player and communication.
