Dr. David X. Cheng is Associate Vice President for Global Services at City University of Hong Kong. He previously served as Assistant Dean at Columbia College and School of Engineering and Applied Science, Executive Director for international dual degree programs in the Office of the Provost, and Adjunct Professor at Teachers College, Columbia University. He was also Executive Director of Columbia Global Center in Beijing. He has published extensively in the areas of higher education research and administration in both English and Chinese.

程星博士現任香港城市大學協理副校長，主管環球事務。之前曾任哥倫比亞大學的哥倫比亞學院和工程學院助理院長、教務長辦公室國際雙學位項目執行主任、師範學院兼職教授、以及哥大全球中心（北京）執行總監。中文著作包括《細讀美國大學》（商務印書館，2004初版、2006增訂版、2015第三版）、《大學國際化的歷程》（商務印書館，2014）、《世界一流大學的管理之道》（北京大學出版社，2011）等。
