Wing Lai Yuen Scholarship
Regulations
Wing Lai Yuen has donated a total of HK$100,000 to establish a number of awards to the students in City University of Hong Kong with effect from 2012/2013. The following regulations shall apply as of 2013/2014:
1. The Awards shall be known as “Wing Lai Yuen Scholarship” (詠藜園獎學金).
2. There shall be a maximum of TEN awards per annum. The value of each award shall be HK$10,000.
3. The awards shall be granted to full-time UGC-funded local undergraduate students who
(i) are students of the Department of Marketing in 2013/2014 academic year;
4. Selection shall be based on the performance achieved in the following aspects in the previous year:
- Academic performance;
- Provision of service to fellow students, institution or the community.
5. Scholarship recipients are required to submit a report (not less than 500 words) about their provision of service to fellow students, institution or the community.
6. The nominations from the Department of Marketing should reach Student Development Services by July each year and the awards shall then be made as soon as possible.
7. Confirmation will be sought from the donor before July 2014 on whether or not the scholarships are to be continued for the following academic year.
Remark :
With an objective to nurture our students and to promote caring culture, the Community Relations Committee of the University Council has recommended that each award recipient is expected to make an annual donation of at least HK$200 to City University of Hong Kong for student support via CityU Alumni Club when they are in employment after graduation. This term has been incorporated into all scholarship/prize/award/bursary schemes, whether they are donated by external donors or contributed by University funding, with effect from February 2008.
