Personal Development Awards


Regulations

The Department of Marketing has agreed to establish thirty-five annual awards in the University by use of the funding available in the Non-UGC Reserves (Departmental) with effect from 2007-2008. The following regulations shall apply as of 2008/2009:

  1. The award shall be known as the "The Department of Marketing Personal Development Awards" (市場營銷學系個人發展獎).

  2. The value of each award shall not exceed HK$30,000.

  3. Award winners must fulfil the following criteria:

    • Applicants must be recipients of the City University A+++ Scholarship or the Department of Marketing Top Entrance Scholarship or the Department of Marketing Undergraduate Entrance Scholarship in the current academic year.
    • Applicants shall be full-time undergraduate freshmen who have been admitted to one of the Marketing Department’s undergraduate programmes, i.e. BBA (Hons) Marketing and BBA (Hons) China Business.
    • To continue receiving the award, winners must maintain a CGPA of 3.0 or above.
    • Discontinued winners can be awarded when he/she fulfils the CGPA requirement later.

  4. Award winners shall be fully sponsored by the Department of Marketing to participate in all the student activities organized by the Department 1 during his/her study in the Department and CityU.

  5. Before participating any specific student activity, the award winners have to get the approval from the department for a full sponsorship for that student activity. After full completion of the student activity, student’s payment shall be reimbursed to the award winners.

  6. Nominations from the Department of Marketing will reach the Student Development Services in October of the academic year for which the awards are designated.

  7. If in any year no student is found to be of sufficient merit, the award will be withheld.

1The list of student activities organized by the Department of Marketing may vary in every academic year. The Department of Marketing has the authority to define and decide the list of student activities where the award is applicable.
