The Exchange Student Club of the College of Business organized a range of orientation activities for 110 new inbound exchange students from 49 partner universities in Semester B, providing them with tips on studying and living in Hong Kong. The activities during the orientation week included an academic advice session, a meeting with members of the Exchange Student Club (ESC), a campus treasure hunt, CityU orienteering, a Welcoming Luncheon, and a day trip to Lantau Island.

Dean Kalok Chan warmly welcomed the inbound students to the luncheon on 10th January. He encouraged them to explore different aspects of Hong Kong to make their exchange journey unforgettable. He also mentioned the comprehensive support provided by CityU to its students. Other attendees at the luncheon included Ms Helen Lam, Deputy Director of the Global Services Office of CityU, Ms Jenny Lai, Assistant Manager of the Global Engagement Office, and Dr Daniel Tse from the Department of Information Systems.

Igor Kasiho of the University of Ottawa said, “The CB orientation team is really caring and really wants us to have a smooth transition to our time in Hong Kong. Personally, I’m impressed and just for this one week I think my testimony of City U will only remain positive.”

Elizaveta Turaeva from Saint-Petersburg State University was similarly impressed: “The first impression of the university is complete delight! Everyone around is ready to help and adapt, people are very open and ready to make new friends. It's very nice that there are people of all cultures and nationalities, it really helps to expand boundaries and learn new things.”

The College of Business wishes all exchange students a wonderful stay at CityU and in Hong Kong, and an unforgettable exchange journey! For more information about the CB Student Exchange Programme, please visit our website.
