A Round-table Meeting on Belt & Road was held on 28 December 2017 at 9:30 a.m. – 12:00 n.n. at Room 9-201, 9/F, Lau Ming Wai Academic Building. EMBA students including William Nie, Ruichen Liang and Min Fung shared their experiences and strategies on promoting Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in Hong Kong with Professor Houmin Yan and other B&R Professors, such as Professor Chenting Su, Professor Frank Chen, Professor Wayne Yu and Prof. Phyllis Mo, etc., of CityU. In order to develop an exchange platform as well as a joint think tank with industries, Qianwu Hung and Ligang Ling, who are the representatives from Huawei, were being invited to attend the meeting and analyzed overseas practical cases and the directions of B&R investments.

With an objective to make good use of the resources from the Hong Kong Government, the university and the students, discussion items are around establishing a “B&R Business School Think Tank”, setting up a local “B&R International Business School Cooperation Union", and to build a knowledge transfer cooperation platform for Hong Kong’s higher education institutions. In addition, other upcoming action plans will cover organization of capacity building programs, study tours to B&R countries, consultation services and annual forums.
