Gaining Success despite Ups and Downs

My primary motivation in joining the Futures Trading Competition was to learn more about how to trade futures using the theory I learned from books. The Competition lasted for five months, during which I combined my investment skills and technical skills to control the trading platform and used my futures knowledge to formulate my investment strategy. I diversified the investment risks by splitting my money into three parts and investing in different products.

The accounting courses at CityU have instilled in me knowledge of risk management, the futures market and the meanings of stock and bonds. This has helped me a great deal in overcoming the challenges of the Competition. I once fell behind and was ranked second, and I was very nervous and upset. I finally got a chance to come back and win. This was a significant and exciting moment for me.

After the competition, I was more mature in handling tasks and problems and more outgoing. I also realized that life is like an investment in that it has ups and downs, so we should learn to face and solve problems. I highly encourage my fellow AC majors to take part in external competitions to experience life and develop their life skills during their time at the university. When preparing for different competitions, they can plan their investment strategies first and consult me or professors.

Finally, I would like to thank all my professors, my parents and my friends for their unfailing support.

Albert received the prizes from Director of Wing Fung Financial Group.
