Activities

So far (as of February 2008), the EF Department has held three very fruitful OBTL retreats: two in 2007 (February and April) and one in 2008 (January).

The February 2007 retreat provides a quick refresher course on OBTL to all teaching staff members. Besides presentations from the Departmental OBTL Focus Group members, VPUE as well as colleagues from EDO and other departments were invited to share their OBTL experience.

In the April 2007 retreat, a concrete OBTL implementation plan for the next three academic years was laid down. This plan sketches out the time table for the completion of program ILOs, the mapping of course ILOs to PILOs, preparation of the Form 2B, and the sequence of courses to be offered in OBTL.

In the development of any education reform, the initial stages where one review and evaluate the reform with an open mind, and subsequently refine it are very critical. It is in this spirit that the Department decided to the third retreat in January 2007 so that colleagues could share their experience and plan for the future. In this retreat, we are very honored to have Professor Louis Ma from the IS Department to share with us the latest trends and future development of the OBTL campaign in City University of Hong Kong.
