Tokyo Study Tour

In order to broaden overseas exposure of students, as well as aligning with University’s strategic goal of globalization, BANL organized the Tokyo Study Tour in late May 2019. We believe students could learn outside the classroom through this all-round study tour.

During the tour, BANL students attended seminars and workshops at Waseda University and Chuo University. Through delivering seminars to present the analytical results, students learnt abundantly from the interactive discussions and Q&A sessions.

The tour also involved some site visits of government organizations, which included National Statistics Centre and Ikebukuro Life Safety Learning Centre. Through the visit, students not only could see data collection instruments and records, but also received emergency training for fire and earthquake disasters.

Moreover, students had opportunities to visit four companies. Visiting Tokyo Stock Exchange Ltd., it fostered students’ knowledge of risk management. Visiting some internationally renowned companies, namely Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. Oppama Plant, Asahi Factory and NHK Studio Park, it allowed students to enrich business knowledge on product manufacturing and development, operations and marketing.

Nevertheless, this tour balanced the academic and cultural learning satisfactorily by embodying sightseeing activities in Leimen Asakusa Temple, Sky Tree, etc. The journey created a fun and valuable learning experience for BANL students, providing them with a wonderful opportunity to explore and acquire new knowledge in different cultural context.
