ASCEND Certificate - Advancing Future Banking Capabilities by The Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB)

The Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB) is the first professional body providing banking specific training and certification/qualification services to the banking community in Hong Kong that are well recognized by the industry.

For students who have leisure time over the summer and thinking to earn professional banking certificates, you may visit the HKIB CDP Training Course Schedule to explore on the different banking topics. Fees are applicable so students are recommended to assess the suitability before any lesson registration. 

ASCEND Certification Requirements:

Students who have fulfilled the following required CDP hours before December 2026 will be granted with an additional ASCEND Certificate certified by HKIB for free which is sponsored by HKMA.

1. Technology and Data (2 Hours)
2. Soft Skills (2 Hours)
3. Banking Knowledge (2 Hours)
4. Reflective Essay (Min. 300 Words)

Target Students

Active students/banking practitioners looking to expand their essential knowledge in Technology and Data, Soft Skills and Banking Knowledge to enhance their professional growth and competitiveness.

Eligibility for ASCEND Certification

1. Students must complete at least 6 hours of ASCEND CPD courses in a calendar year (up to Dec 2026), with a minimum of 2 hours in each of the three skill areas; and
2. Students must submit a reflective essay with a minimum of 300 words.
