"Through an exchange program between HKMA and PBoC, I became a part-time student of the City University of Hong Kong and spent one-year studying Financial Engineering. This learning period is one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. The course arrangement of the programme is very logical and adaptable to the students who are interested in financial markets. Through this programme, I have gained fundamental knowledge of the financial market developments, financial products, investment skills, as well as financial modeling, etc. The wide coverage of knowledge can help us to get familiar with what is happening in the world, ideas behind the financial products and how to use computer science to make investment decisions. I think the programme is both theoretical and practical, not only helping us to understand the mathematical forums of financial products product, but also enabling us to solve practical problems. Besides, teamwork has also been an important attribute in this programme, which can broaden our view through brainstorming with other classmates, build up friendships and enjoy the project presentation with confidence in front of the class. As the saying goes “When there is hard work, there is a lot of joy”. With dedication, I think everyone can gain a lot from the programme and finally become an elite in the financial market."
