Course Registration
During the first year of your study, we will pre-register all required core courses for you, i.e., you do not have to register for the required core courses yourself.
In general, if you are:
local students, we will pre-register the required core courses for you based on the premise that you will study in part-time mode unless you inform us otherwise.
non-local students, we will pre-register the required core courses for you based on the study mode (part-time or full-time) that you have indicated on your admission application.
Part-time Mode
For students studying in part-time mode, we will pre-register the following required core courses for you:

To register for elective courses or to change the courses (or sections) that we have pre-registered for you, you will have to follow the course add/drop procedure described in "Course Add/Drop".

- Getting started
Please activate your Electronic ID (EID) such that you can login to the e-Portal of CityU. Once you login to the e-Portal/Blackboard, you can access “AIMS” where you can obtain various useful information including:
your own timetable which lists the required core courses that we have pre-registered for you (you have to choose your elective courses by completing the Course Add/Drop Procedure), and
the Master Class Schedule which lists all the courses offered by various departments in the semester.
The Master Class Schedule and your own timetable will be released by the University in around late July / early August, 2014.11

Course Add/Drop Procedure
Courses are either web-enabled (i.e., you can register for the courses on-line) or non web-enabled (i.e., you cannot register for the courses on-line and you have to follow a paper add/drop procedure).
For web-enabled courses, the on-line add/drop period is from around mid-August to early September, 2014.11
For non web-enabled courses, the paper add/drop period is from around early August to early September, 2014.11

Tuition Fee & Payment Schedule

Tuition Fee
The tuition fee for the academic year 2014/2015 is HK$5,900 per credit unit.

Payment Schedule for New Students in Semester A 2014/2015
The non-refundable Acceptance Fee (HK$23,600) that you have paid at the time of admission is equivalent to 4 credit units and it will be credited towards the tuition fee upon your enrolment in the University.
The balance of the tuition fee required for the first semester of your study will be collected after the course add/drop period and the payment due date is around early October, 2014.

Payment Schedule afterwards
After the first semester of your study, you will have to pay the tuition fee in two installments in each semester (“semester” refers to Semesters A and B).
For Semester B 2014/2015, the payment schedule is as follows:
- 1st Installment (tuition fee of two credit units) – mid January, 2015
- 2nd Installment (balance of tuition fee for Semester B) – mid/late February, 2015For the Summer Term, you have to pay the tuition fee in full once. The payment due date for the Summer Term of 2015 is around early July, 2015.

Account Summary
Students can retrieve their e-receipt, view their account summary and due date for payment in ‘AIMS’ under ‘Student Record’ > ‘My Finance’.
