There are three competitions organized annually, which allow students utilizing knowledge learnt, for solving practical problems from actual business, as well as interacting with other people.

Beijing-HK University Student Big Data Modelling Competition

The Department of Management Sciences (MS) had organized a study tour to Beijing since 2015. More than thirty students from both our department, and Faculty of Statistics of Renmin University of China formed groups to partipate in this four-day competition every year. Students could learn from each other through discussions, as well as receiving valuable feedback from the judges.

Data Mining Challenge Awards proudly sponsored by SAS Hong Kong

The major of Business Analysis (BANL) has held a competition since 2011. By using data mining tools, they can analyze a large data set, hence solving some real-life problems. It can facilitate students' capability on stress management, through answering questions raised by the panel.

Predictive Analytics and Forecasting Award proudly sponsored by Hong Kong Internet of Things Association

BANL organized a contest since 2016. By using statistical models, they can forecast key economic and social variables in Hong Kong or other counties. It can facilitate students' team building, through cooperating with others.
