Panel discussion draws attention to the inclusive future of employment
MBA SHARP Forum fosters inclusive employment
The Fostering Inclusive Employment SHARP Forum, organised by a group of MBA students, was held on 17 April at the CityU campus. The forum shed light on the job barriers faced by underrepresented individuals, including those with physical and mental disabilities and individuals from ethnic minority groups. The event brought together speakers and approximately 100 participants to discuss inclusive employment, explore strategies to unleash the untapped capabilities of underrepresented individuals, advocate for unbiased recruitment practices, and foster a diverse workforce that values different perspectives. Professor Kevin Chiang, the MBA Director, commended the student team for organising this meaningful forum and promoting dialogue and engagement for underrepresented groups.
Ms Tiffany Chan, Founder of iCare Foundation, discussed the importance of serving underrepresented communities. Ms Vivienne Wong, Executive Director of Hong Kong Economic Times, and Ms Agnes Wun, Co-founder & CEO of Neufast Limited, discussed how media and AI can promote inclusivity in their respective fields. Mr Steve Lo, Founder of Wheel for Oneness, shared personal stories and demonstrated the empowering potential of technology for individuals with disabilities. The panel discussion, moderated by Mr Darron Sun, the Immediate Past President of Lions Club of Hong Kong IFS, facilitated keen exchange of ideas among participants for an inclusive employment society.

In his closing remark, Professor Chiang encouraged students to delve deeper into social equity and humanitarian issues, make a positive impact on society and contribute to building a more inclusive world.
