Booking department is responsible for their own technical support.


Rules:


  1. Food and beverages are not allowed inside the room.
  2. All venues are reserved for the University's activities only. University personnel or departments should not make or transfer any booking to any outsider for hosting any event and will hold responsibility for the venue throughout the entire reserved period.
  3. Users must either be the organizer, co-organizer or sponsor of the event booked using the venue. The name of the departments / student societies should appear on all promotional materials (such as posters, leaflet, brochure, website, etc.) as an organizer, co-organizer or sponsor.
  4. Venue usage shall not involve any commercial, political, profit-related and/or personal activities.
  5. When using the venues, users are required to observe the following rules:
    1. Do not block off emergency lighting, fire services installation, signage, escape routing and pedestrian flow;
    2. Do not create excessive noise that may affect the normal activities on campus or cause nuisance to others;
    3. Do not disseminate or display information or materials of commercial nature;
    4. Present all banners / notices / promotional materials with name or logo of CityU and / or department with authorization for identification;
    5. Use notice boards as provided. Do not post materials on areas which may cause damages or stains to building fabrics, e.g. floor, wall, ceiling, lamp-posts, lifts, escalators, etc;
    6. Use string or other removable devices to fix banner / flags / promotional materials. Do not use adhesive tapes;
    7. Hang banner on the railing, but not the lamp-posts; and
    8. Observe and comply with the law on copyright or other laws of the HKSAR.
  6. Users shall be liable for any loss of or damage to the venue (including equipment, furniture and fixtures) arising from negligence, unintentional act, unauthorized maintenance or any other cause within the reasonable control of the users or the invitees. In the event of any loss of or damage to the venue (including equipment, furniture and fixtures) for which the users is liable, users shall reimburse the University the total cost to making good the damage or effecting replacement.
  7. Venues are not intended to be used as a place of public entertainment as interpreted in the Places of Public Entertainment Ordinance, Chapter 172. (i.e. the theatre cannot be used by the general public unless invited by the applicant).
  8. Users are responsible for obtaining any licenses for their function, if required by laws.
  9. Smoking is prohibited in any venues on campus.
  10. The stated seating capacity of the venues should not be exceeded.
  11. Users are responsible for reinstating the facility to its original condition immediately after use.
  12. Before leaving the room, make sure all the lights, air-conditioning and TV are switched off, all personal belongings are taken away and the room is tidy and clean.
  13. The activities to be carried out should be appropriate to the venue and pose no potential hazard to the University community. Users shall ensure the activities are conducted safely.
  14. The University reserves the right to disapprove a booking, to remove and dispose of any material, or to stop any activities that do not comply with the above-mentioned rules without notice.
  15. Users who fail to observe the aforesaid regulations and/or specific regulations for use of venues (if any) may be debarred from using the venues and/or equipment. The misbehavior may also be reported to authorities concerned for appropriate disciplinary action.
