An insightful Dinner Reception brought together a distinguished guest list, including our university professors, Global EMBA alumni and current students, and prominent industry experts, all convening for an evening of scholarly and professional exchange.

The evening officially commenced with a warm welcome speech delivered by the Dean, Prof. Stephen Shum, who set a collaborative tone for the night and introduced the evening's distinguished keynote speaker, Prof. Herman Hu, GBS, JP—Former Chairman of the Council of CityUHK and Hong Kong Deputy to the National People’s Congress of the PRC.

Prof. Hu delivered a masterful keynote titled “Taking a proactive role in the 15th Five-Year Plan 在「十五五」規劃中採取主動角色”. He began by introducing the foundational history and significant position of China's Five-Year Plans, highlighting how these frameworks have consistently driven the nation's robust development.

Drawing from his deep expertise as a Hong Kong Deputy to the National People’s Congress of the PRC and Co-Chairperson of the CityUHK Foundation Board of Governors, Prof. Hu explored how academic, civic, and business sectors can dynamically position themselves to contribute to and benefit from this upcoming strategic blueprint. His insights provided a clear roadmap for growth and proactive leadership, culminating in an engaging Q&A session where guests eagerly shared perspectives.

Following the presentation, the conversation continued. The gathering provided an excellent opportunity for our professors, industry experts, and Global EMBA community to network, share cross-sector insights, and discuss the practical implications of the Five-Year Plan in a warm, collaborative environment.

The evening successfully united top-tier insights with our dynamic community, fostering a powerful consensus on how academic and business leaders can collectively align with the nation’s future development.
