With 23 years at Alibaba, I witnessed the transformation from a local e-commerce company to a global technology enterprise. As part of the Human Resources Group (HRG), I have always championed organisational change. However, as Alibaba globalised, HR encountered new challenges, particularly in cross-cultural organisational development and international talent strategies.

As the Vice President of a leading Chinese garment manufacturing enterprise with a 30-year legacy in the industry, I've found the CityUHK Global EMBA to be transformative for both my professional outlook and our company's future direction. As a lawyer with over 30 years of experience in cross-border legal practice, I specialize in a diverse range of areas, including capital markets, dispute resolution, mergers and acquisitions, data compliance, bankruptcy restructuring, and wealth management for high-net-worth clients. Currently, I am based at the Shanghai office of Dacheng Law Offices, one of China’s oldest and most prestigious partnership law firms, boasting over 50 offices nationwide. Our alliance with Dentons extends our global reach across 81 countries, providing a robust platform for collaboration. Leading a team of over 800 staff members, including more than 600 lawyers in Shanghai alone, I am well-positioned to oversee complex cross-border cases and manage multidisciplinary teams on capital markets, transactions, and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) projects. This dynamic environment has been instrumental in growing my practice over the past 16 years, and I am grateful for the opportunities it has afforded me.

I officially joined Alibaba Cloud in 2017 as part of the Media and Integrated Communications Division, focusing on Content Delivery Network (CDN) and Edge Cloud technologies.

Having worked on international projects in over 20 countries for two decades, including Thailand, India, and Nigeria, I recognise the need to step out of my comfort zone and change my thinking patterns.
