CityU hosts online programme for MBA students from Seoul National University

35 students from the MBA programme of the Graduate School of Business, Seoul National University in Korea participated in an online programme, Doing Business in China and Southeast Asia, from 15-17 November 2021. The College of Business of CityU arranged lectures and industrial seminars for the programme, with an aim to enhance students’ understanding on business environment in Asia, with a particular focus in China.

In his welcome remarks, Professor Kim Jeong Bon, Acting Dean of the College of Business, highlighted the importance for business students to gain exposure and insight into cross-cultural or cross-national issues. He also encouraged students to think about how a country and a company grow in a sustainable way, “I hope the lessons in this programme will help you find out the answers,” he said.

Lectures were delivered by the University’s faculty members including Professor Wayne Yu, Director (Executive Education); Professor David Li, Head of the Department of Marketing; Professor Maris Martinsons, Professor of the Department of Management; and Dr James Wang, Research Director of the Belt & Road Hong Kong Centre.

Two industrial seminars were arranged. Mr Emil Chan, a FinTech evangelist and an Adjunct Professor of the College, shared about the development of central bank digital currency and digital asset in China. Mr Floyd Newsum, Director of RPA (HK) Ltd., talked about strategies and solutions in delivering enterprise-grade intelligent automation.
