The 2014 APJAE Symposium, organized by the Asia-Pacific Journal of Accounting and Economics (APJAE), will be held from December 4-5 at City University of Hong Kong. The Department is honored to be the local organizer and financial sponsor of this prestigious event.

The theme of this year’s Symposium is “Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Issues,” with particular reference to the Asia-Pacific region. A call for presentations on the latest research has been issued to veteran academics and experts from all over the world. The Symposium will constitute a great and long-awaited occasion for the active exchange of knowledge and experience across business disciplines.

Professor Gordon Richardson of the University of Toronto has been invited as the Keynote Speaker. The 2014 APJAE Symposium will also feature a Practitioners’ Forum, Plenary Sessions and Concurrent Sessions.

Registration

• Only registered participants will be admitted (except the Keynote Speaker)
• Registration fee: US$150

Submission details

• Plenary session submissions: registration fee waived, airfare and hotel accommodation paid for one presenter of each paper
• Selected papers will be published in the APJAE
• Concurrent session submissions: no subsidies for registration, airfare or accommodation

What is the APJAE?

The APJAE is a research journal covering economics and accounting, with a particular focus on auditing, financial reporting, earnings management, financial analysis, the role of accounting information, international trade and finance, industrial organization, strategic behavior, market structures, financial contracts, corporate governance, capital markets, and financial institutions.

The journal was launched in 2007 and publishes three issues per year.
