Programme Structure & Curriculum 

Students are required to complete the five core courses (15 credit units) and five elective courses (15 credit units):

Core Courses (15 credit units)

EF5470 Advanced Econometrics
EF5471 Advanced Microeconomics
EF5472 Advanced Macroeconomics
EF5473 Professional Seminars in Applied Economics
EF5474 Quantitative Methods in Economics

Elective Courses (15 credit units)

Students are required to choose three elective courses (9 credit units) from the below list:

EF5400 Advanced International Trade
EF5402 Economic Growth and Development
EF5403 Experimental Economics
EF5406 International Finance
EF5409 Urban and Real Estate Economics
  Up to two 3-credit-unit free electives *
(any course subject to the approval from programme leader and course offering department) 

Graduation Requirements 

Apart from fulfilling the above programme requirements, students have to meet the below graduation requirements:

  • pass all core and elective courses;
  • earn 30 credit units; and
  • achieve a Cumulative Grade Points Average (CGPA) of 2.0 or above (Grading System).
