The offshore Chinese credit markets primarily consist of Chinese dollar, offshore RMB, and euro bond markets. These markets are significant components of the international bond market and represent a key area for capital market services in Hong Kong. In this discussion, we will explore the investment landscape of these markets from an investor’s perspective. Instead of providing a typical overview of historical development, issuance structures, and regulatory policies, we will focus on current market dynamics and prevailing investment themes. Drawing on my experience as a financial practitioner, I will share insights into the key drivers, opportunities, risks, return analysis, and investment strategies within these markets. I also hope that our discussion will shed light on credit strategy analysis, and please note that the relevant analytical framework can be applied to other fixed income markets as well.
